Unit economics

The revenue, value, and cost associated with a defined, measurable unit of a product or service.

For AI specifically, the "unit" is the sharpest lever available: pricing a whole program is hard, but pricing one resolved ticket, one generated report, or one completed workflow is tractable, and it is the unit most of this site's cost-per-outcome framing is built around.
